First-ever real estate summit held in J&K, govt pitches a 'second home' to citizens. The J&K administration has undertaken a series of changes in land use laws, permitting converting agricultural land for developmental projects. Before govt abrogated Article 370, only 'permanent residents' could purchase or own land in J&K. Under the new J&K Development Act, the 'permanent resident' criterion has been omitted. The govt says that now, any Indian can purchase non-agricultural land in Jammu & Kashmir.
